My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Katie, a recent rescue, was listed as an American Blue Heeler / Corgi, Cardigan Welsh. She almost perfectly fits the description for the Cardigan Welsh Corgi except for her ears. We think she may be a Cardigan Welsch Corgi/Mini Australian Shepard cross. Katie is estimated to be 1 year old. She still exhibits some puppy traits as she pressed into the wire of the pen at the shelter trying to get this rescuers attention, and it worked. Katie has a gorgeous blue merle coat and her weight recorded at the shelter was 26.6 pounds. She is good on a leash and loves to flip over and get belly rubs. Katie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. If you would like to adopt this little love bug, Katie is being fostered in Arkansas. Her adoption donation is $715 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Katie, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.
Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
