My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COURTESY POST: Hi I'm Harry. I am a 4 year old Wolfhound/Poodle mix who weighs 68 lbs. My Mom had to give me up because she is having some medical problems. I am staying with a foster family that has 2 other dogs. They are ok but, of course, I want to have a family to myself. Kids are good, especially older kids that like to play. A yard would be great too. I love to play catch and will play all day if you keep throwing the ball. I carry my tennis ball around with me everywhere, just in case someone wants to throw it. My long legs make me super quick to retrieve the ball. Like a good boy I always lay the ball on the ground and wait patiently for it to be thrown. I go on long walks in the neighborhood or on the trails with my foster brother. We can actually go a few miles when the weather is not as hot. I am pretty good on the leash, but my foster mom is helping me get even better for my forever family. Patrolling for squirrels to keep them in their proper place on the fence and not in the yard is a skill of mine. When I am not out walking or patrolling for squirrels, I am a very chill guy. I lay in the office while my foster mom works. I also like to cuddle on the sofa. My long hair is nice and soft, and I enjoy being scratched behind the ears and on the belly. I do not shed much which my foster Mom tells me is great. Getting a bath at the pet store is fine with me and I jump right into the bath. I stand patiently while I get clean. I don't even shake until all the bubbles are gone and the hose is off. I love the hair dryer when it is blowing cool air in my face. One thing you need to know is that I am scared of thunderstorms and need an extra hug to let me know I am safe. Please consider meeting me. I would love to meet you.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.

All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
