Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Elmer is a sweet and loving senior guy who found himself at the shelter with no family. We brought him into our rescue when he started to become ill at the shelter.
Elmer is estimated to be approximately 12 years old. He weighs about 55 pounds.
Elmer has suffered from years of neglect and as a result is heartworm positive. The heartworm was left untreated and Elmer now has heart disease. Because of this, the heartworm can no longer be treated the traditional way, and Elmer will be on the slow kill method fir his heartworm. Which is just giving him his heartworm prevention every month. That's it. Elmer also has some arthritis and is on inexpensive pain management medications for that.
Elmer is a very sweet and easy going guy. You would never know that he has anything wrong with him or that he's a senior. His tail never stops wagging and he wants nothing but love. Elmer is very dog friendly and an all over great guy. He does wear wraps in the house because he marks.
Interested in giving Elmer the best, last chapter of his life?
