Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATE: Mabel was adopted by her foster family. Sadly, Mabel was fatally hit by a car. Please, please, never let your dogs off leash with out a fence if there is a road anywhere nearby. Our condolences to Mabel's family. She has gone on to the Rainbow Bridge. Mabel is a beautiful brindle Dachshund mix. Perhaps with a Cairn Terrier? She is super sweet and really just wants to be loved & near you. Mabel is about 2 years old. She has been spayed, is heartworm negative & on prevention. She is up to date on all her vaccines and is in great health. Mabel is crate trained. She is good with cats and dogs, but she is afraid of very intimidating dogs. She is mostly housebroken – she will have the occasional accident if you are not watching. Mabel is a wonderful, affectionate small indoor dog. She will keep you company for a long time to come. She would be perfect for a retired person or someone that works at home. She would not be suited for a home with small children. Safe Dogs By The River does not adopt dogs to outdoor only homes, nor do we endorse this practice. We believe a dog is a family member and should live indoors with they're humans. Indoor dogs make better watch dogs, are better able to alert to intruders and are capable of actually doing something heroic in the face of an emergency. All companions from Safe Dogs By The River have an adoption fee. If we did not have these fees, we would not be able to help the next animal that comes along. Please help us to continue helping the animals we have in our care. Mabel is in a foster home. You can reach her foster at: jbrooks4760@charter.netOctober 27, 2024, 12:23 am
