My story

UPDATE: Scarlet has a new name (Stella), a new home and a new playmate. She is doing very well in her new forever home. Everyone is very happy. Thanks for adopting.

Scarlet is a beautiful and mellow hound mix. We think she is about 4 years old. She was a roaming country dog that has had many litters in her day. She is now spayed and has raised her last puppy.
She is a very calm indoor dog with good manners. She is playful when the mood strikes her, but is content to lay at your feet. She lives with many other dogs and a couple of cats so she would do fine with other animals.
She would benefit from a basic obedience class, as all dogs can.
She is a very pretty dog just waiting for her forever home.
Safe Dogs By The River does not adopt dogs to outdoor only homes, nor do we endorse this practice. We believe a dog is a family member and should live indoors with they're humans. Indoor dogs make better watch dogs, are better able to alert to intruders and are capable of actually doing something heroic in the face of an emergency.
All companions from Safe Dogs By The River have an adoption fee. If we did not have these fees, we would not be able to help the next animal that comes along. Please help us to continue helping the animals we have in our care.
