Mimosa is one of 12 Shiba Inu's DC SIR rescued from a commercial breeding facility in Iowa. Mimosa is a small Shiba at just 20 lbs. She was fully vetted with full panel bloodwork, core vaccines, negative on heartworm and all tick-borne diseases, and microchipped. Mimosa is one of the more fearful of the mill pups. However, she is also so incredibly happy to be running free. She prances and gallops in the yard. She loves to sun herself in the grass. Mimosa has learned to use the dog door and hasn't had any accidents in her foster home for several weeks. Mimosa gets along great with dogs and cats and would likely benefit from a home with another friendly dog. She has learned to trust her foster parents but is still nervous around strangers and will run and hide until they are gone. When Mimosa's foster mom needs to pick her up she makes a down signal with her hand, and Mimosa flattens and waits to be picked up with the cue "up! up!" We think Mimosa will do best in a quiet home with a fenced yard as she is too fearful to walk on a leash yet. Without a yard, she needs a very patient adopter to build trust on a long-leash. She will need time to trust humans as her life has been difficult living in small cage at the commercial breeding facility.
