My story

Rufus is a happy, friendly 1-2-year-old hound mix who weighs 60 pounds. He lives in a foster home with other medium sized dogs and everyone gets along well. He would love to find a home with another playful dog or some kids to keep him busy.
Rufus came to us when one of our volunteers found him abandoned in the country. He had a rough start in life, but that hasn’t diminished his sweet temperament or puppy-like spirit. He’s very affectionate and loves attention. In his foster home, Rufus is learning his basic manners and how to be a house dog. He is crate and house trained, and he’s learned to use the doggie door. He will need an active family who can be patient and continue his training. Rufus will return your kindness with a lifetime of loyalty and gratitude.
