Meet Toodle Lou, a bundle of pure joy who’s been lighting up her foster home since May 2024! Toodle Lou is like a walking, wagging ray of sunshine—her excitement is absolutely contagious. Whether she’s bouncing around with her favorite squeaky toys or launching into playful zoomies in the backyard, Toodle Lou`s zest for life is truly unmatched.
Toodle Lou’s favorite pastime? Napping on the couch, of course—ideally with a nice chew in paw! Yes, cheese is her ultimate obsession, and she’ll do a happy dance for a nibble of it. She’s mostly housebroken and knows a couple cues- `sit`, `down` and `go to place`!
This sweet girl is also working on becoming a champion walker. She can get a bit nervous in new situations and might go all “pancake” on you, but with some tasty treats, gentle encouragement, and lots of belly rubs, she’s gaining confidence every day. And guess what? She’s even started to enjoy car rides—another chance for cheesy treats and new adventures!
When Toodle Lou first came to CCR, she had a rough start with a spine injury from being in a cage for too long. But with physical therapy, she’s made amazing progress, and her spine is feeling much better. We’re still tackling some skin issues with her vet, but Toodle Lou is a trooper, taking baths like a champ!
Toodle Lou is ready to bring endless happiness and cheesy joy to a loving forever home. If you’re ready to add a sprinkle of fun and a lot of love to your life, Toodle Lou is excited to meet you and show you just how magical a happy pup can be!

More about this shelter
CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
