Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOTION…..
As pictured, “BLUE” is certainly a most beautiful, stunning, black AKC male Standard Poodle. You WILL get lots of attention from people wherever you go with him! This is a nice sized 1-year-old Standard who was born April 29, 2022, weighs 50 pounds (will gain weight after he is neutered) and measures 24 inches from the floor to his withers (shoulders).
I do have a copy of his AKC papers along with copies of AKC verified pedigree for both parents. His sire lists that he has been OFA registered with some quality, champion recognizable “lines”. Very nice.
Blue comes to us from a loving and concerned breeder in Northern Minnesota. But things have changed for her, and life became so difficult that she needed to let go. Thank you, Carol and Karla.
Blue was then tearfully surrendered to us through the “Leech Lake Legacy” program.
What a wonderful group of people who work to provide Veterinarian care for family pets along with the transportation of various pets to rescue groups who help to find them a new and loving family: http://leechlakelegacy.org/ Thank you, Jenny!
When Blue first arrived, it was a difficult change for him as he had been with his big brother since birth. But In a few days with us, he was his normal self: a gentle, loving, silly puppy boy! So now he greatly enjoys what’s going on inside and outside our home, questions everything you are doing (what’s that?) and wants our Standard Poodles “Lola” to chase and play with him.
Blue has also claimed our smaller sofa for himself and all the toys he can find. He will even try to sit in your lap then cuddle with you when you sit next to him.
This 1 year old boy is very much a wonderful and SMART Standard Poodle that has been perfect in our home (housetrained).
He considers himself a family member and not a pet. He will muzzle your hand so you pet and hug him, loves treats (rattle the bag), loves attention (call his name; most of the time he will come), and again he loves hugs and snuggles. Grab a leash and he is ready to go for a walk as he LOVES being with people and enjoys all that life has to offer!
Blue would be just fine as an only dog because he likes people and attention. But a home with another fun loving, playful, and easy-going LARGE dog that would greatly enjoy being with Blue will just fine. Blue was a good boy with our visiting grandchildren who know all about dogs and how to play with them.
Yes. This is a very rare opportunity for the right family as we all know that a good, quality Standard Poodle is hard to find. With the introduction of Doodles, sadly the Standard Poodle breed is becoming harder to find. Why Doodle when you can Poodle?
*A SECURLY FENCED YARD will be required as he loves to run, romp and play. He also likes to chase our squirrels, rabbits, deer, gophers, etc.
*You must be physically able to handle a Standard Poodle.
*Preference will be given to a family with past Standard Poodle experience.
*NO young children.
*ABSOULTLY NO CATS, small dogs, rodents, or birds! As with most quality Standard Poodles, Willow’s hunting instincts are most excellent!
*We do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota.
Blue has been Vet checked healthy. But his 4DX test (heartworm / Lymes / Anaplasmosis / Ehrlich) came back positive for only Lymes and Anaplasma. He is being treated with a 30-day supply Doxycycline which is the normal procedure for these tic born illnesses. He will be just fine as he is very young, shows no symptoms and we “caught it” early.
As with all the other Standard Poodles we have adopted, Willow’s adoption fee is 1 million, trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family his adoption fee is $850.00 which includes $59.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax.
This fee includes all his vet work, a leash, collars, a bag of quality dog food, a large 10-gallon dog food container, treats, dog toys in a cute toy box, a blanket, a BIG, soft dog bed along with lots of good information to help your Poodle adoption move forward on the right paw!
Blue will be neutered on July 7th and will be able to go home with his new family after that.
