Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ranger is a gorgeous big boy, who loves literally everyone! He wants to be with his people, right by their side. Ranger also loves to play with other dogs, small or large. We sent Ranger to a veteran's PTSD group for therapy dog training from the county shelter, and he learned so much, and they really, really loved him... The problem is that he had an incident with storm anxiety, and this made him flunk out... We understood that and have taken him back to find a family for him!
Since we have had him, he has been through multiple storms without a problem. We believe that the building he was in was all metal, and hail was hitting the roof and scared him. It probably sounded like gun shots to him! Ranger is just a big lap dog and is the perfect dog for any family. He is great with kids, as long as they're big enough not to be knocked over by his size.
Since he is a big dog, we would like an experienced adopter for him, and one who would have time to spend with him, not leave him alone all day. Ranger is a real sweetheart, and we hope his is home is out there!
He requires a good fence, as he will climb one to go and see what's cooking at the neighbor's house... He has been known to go down the street, climb a fence and play with the dogs, then come back home and sit on the front porch. So, if you're not at home, he might do better inside. He is curious about the deer he sees, mostly just to see if it would make a playmate...
