Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there! It’s me, Felix. You’ve probably seen my face around here for a while; that’s because I’ve been looking for a home for OVER A YEAR now. I’m told senior dogs are often overlooked, but I’m hoping you will give me a second chance. My vet says I’m around 10 years old, but to me age is just a number. Do you know what is seriously great about me? I’m already potty-trained, kennel-trained, well-behaved, don’t chew, travel well in the car, and I’m an overall low-maintenance dude. Yes, I have a little arthritis, but who doesn’t? While I won’t be joining you on the hiking trails or dog parks, I promise I will make up for it in spirit and smiles - I have plenty of those to share! I love taking short strolls around the neighborhood and greeting all the neighbors. I’ve never met a stranger - only future friends.
Life is too short to be unhappy, so I choose to be joyful every day. Despite my happy disposition, large dogs make me uneasy. I am more comfortable sharing space with smaller dogs (I’m 53 lbs.). Also, dog parks are not my jam; I find calm, low-energy fur-friends to be much more my speed. Ultimately, I’m looking for a human who loves to snuggle and give belly rubs. My human also must be okay with my Velcro-dog tendencies that include following you to the bathroom and waiting outside doors for you. I believe my sworn duty is to keep you company, because who doesn’t want a buddy?
Medical Note: Felix has been diagnosed with Valley Fever and will need a home that is comfortable giving twice daily meds until the infection has resolved.
Have you ever thought about fostering or foster-to-adopt? I am an easy-keeper and would make a perfect first-time foster!
(While our rescue typically does not adopt out beyond Phoenix, in order help Felix find a wonderful home we will make an exception. We will accept applications for Felix from outside the Phoenix metro area.
**$100 adoption fee includes: vaccinations, dewormed, neuter, and microchip.
