Once Pepper warms up, he is always wanting to cuddle next to and squish against his foster mom; even sometimes rubbing his face into hers. He's a bit more playful than his bonded partner, Angel, coming running when he hears his favorite toy jingling and gets the nighttime zoomies. He's definitely a bit less independent and is attached to Angel, whether she likes it or not! Unlike his counterpart, Pepper wants to sleep next to his foster mom rather than at the foot of the bed, often scooting as close as he can to be with her.
Without question, his favorite toy is the laser pointer. As soon as he hears his foster mom pick it up and the keychain on it clinks a little bit, Pepper will immediately run over, ready to play. Pepper is becoming really fond of little mice- there is one that has a fluffy body and a felt tail, which he really likes and will carry it in his mouth. Sometimes his foster mom will wake to hear him happily licking a catnip toy.
Pepper is constantly cracking his foster mom up. When he is cleaning himself he ends up sitting on his butt and kicking his legs out- it's hilarious. He's definitely a bit more dog-esque than Angel, it wouldn't be surprising if he started playing fetch some day.
Angel and Pepper have bonded in their time together so we intend to keep the two of them together and place them as a pair in their forever home. If you live alone, or just and want to come home every night to love and relax, these two are perfect.

CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.
At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally, cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone.
Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home.
Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster-based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
