Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tater is a sweet mellow bichon/maltese mix who's about 10 years old and weighs about 20 pounds. He is a calm affectionate boy who bonds closely with his people and loves other dogs. He loves to cuddle and will lay his head on your lap and look at you with those adoring eyes that speak volumes of how grateful he is. Tater put on quite a few pounds when he was with the previous owner so we're working on getting him svelte again :)
Tater is calm when encountering other people and dogs passing by. He's not fond of the leash, and tends to just sit when leashed. So if you like being a couch potato, Tater would love to join you!
Tater is a wonderful devoted, loving companion who is easy to have around. He's been completely vetted, including a recent dental. His bloodwork came back great, but he had to have over 20 teeth pulled 🙁 Poor baby! Also, he seems to have some age-related diminished vision, so it would be good for him to be paired with a younger dog who has good vision.
Tater has been fostered with Louie, and the two of them are bonding, so we would love to see Tater and Louie adopted together (we offer a discount if you adopt two dogs, and we all know two are better than one!). Louie is a young dog, although he acts older because he was previously traumatized. Tater and Louie would be great siblings because Louie is fearful and Tater calms him, and Tater has some diminished vision due to his age and Louie will be his seeing eye dog.
If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Tater, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form.
