Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Alvin is a sweet, gentle, affectionate goofball. A “Velcro Dog”, he will follow you everywhere. He loves attention and cuddling. If you are on the couch, he’s likely to want to join you there. His adorable quirks: he wags his tail in a circle and his ears fold forward when he’s alert. He walks well on leash, is crate-trained, and is an excellent car traveler!
Observations about Alvin from his foster family:
• Learning to play and loves stuffies! Enjoys dragging his blankets around. He has dragged his entire dog bed upstairs a few times, too!
• Shy when meeting new people (especially groups), but gradually warms up.
• He has no issues with paws or any other body parts being touched. He has done well with getting his nails cut and buffed.
• He does not have sleep startle.
• Though he is still getting used to it, he does relatively well with teeth brushing.
• A quiet boy. Has barked at something out the window a couple of times, but otherwise, not vocal.
• He will likely have no trouble being left alone at home for some amount of time.
• He is potty trained, but, of course, needs to have bathroom breaks every 4-6 hours because he drinks lots of water.
• Gobbles up his food quickly, so consider a slow feed method, so he won’t cough it up.
• Because he sometimes jumps up when he’s excited and isn’t aware of his size, some vigilance is needed around small children.
• He has a prey drive around squirrels and small creatures. Seems fine in his few interactions with small and medium-sized dogs. But probably needs further testing, and would advise initial caution around small dogs. Has not been tested with cats, but we advise caution here too.
