Koko is one of the 12 Shiba Inu's DC SIR pulled from a Midwest Commercial Breeding facility. She is one of the more fearful pups of the group who is still nervous about body handling. Koko is in a foster home with her mom, dad, DC SIR alum, and another friendly dog. She is also living with cats. Koko gets along great with animals but takes some time to warm up to people. She will require adopters who are patient and willing to slowly earn her trust because she is skittish and skeptical of people. Koko's foster parents will catch her playing with their male Jindo mix but doesn't like to play when she has a human audience. Living with another friendly dog is ideal. Due to Koko's body handling issues we will require a home with a fenced yard. Like the other mill dogs living years in a metal cage with no comfort of soft beds or blankets, Koko only slept on the floor. However, she is now learning to sleep on a soft bed. Koko has an open xpen to go in and out as she pleases but chooses to sleep and nap in her xpen. At times, like all the mills dogs, she can cry at night as they were likely used to being fed early morning at the facility. Koko enjoys sunning herself in her fenced yard.
