Our sweet boy Sully is ready for his forever home. Some of you may remember that Sully came into our care when his owners were advised by vets to euthanize him for his behavioral issues. They believed he had "unpredictable aggression" that could not be fixed, and that the best solution would be for him to no longer be with us.
Instead, he was brought to Bark at the Moon, and we were able to provide him the training that he needs to be able to be the good boy we knew he could be (and save his life)!
Sully is a high-energy boy who would be best fulfilled working. By this we mean that he THRIVES doing activities like agility, scent work, structured play, and more. Using this kind of activity helps him get both his physical energy out but also his mental energy! He's SO SMART!
Sully is fully obedience trained and it is imperative that his future fosters or adopters continue to provide ongoing training as well as structure in the home. This means using his crate, directing him to the "place" when he's expected to settle, setting boundaries around visitors, and giving him routine physical and mental exercise.
With all of the above, we know Sully would make a great family dog!
Some things to consider if you're interested in Sully:
He's dog friendly, but like humans - may not get along with every dog he meets. Proper introductions are necessary when meeting other dogs, otherwise not necessary!
He can be toy protective - so if you have another dog or kids, toys should be kept away unless it is a structured playtime, and ensure Sully is given space when needed.
He is an incredibly handsome man! But don't let strangers run up to him to pet him without consent, calmness, and preparedness.
He is young! He is very playful and can get overexcited! This is why structure is so important!
He is fully obedience trained, wears a prong collar on walks, and is e-collar trained. If interested in Sully - you would be provided training on how to use these tools if you have not before. It's important to continue using them for his benefit and yours!
The ideal home for Sully is a confident handler who loves adventures, and playtime and is searching for an overall happy guy to share their life with. If you feel, he can be your newest family member,
