People vacated an apartment, leaving outrageous filth and debris behind - and also 10 cats. Isabel was one of those cats.
Cute little Isabel was very frightened and underweight at 5.6 pounds, but otherwise healthy. She was estimated by the vet to be just one year old at the time (December 2021).
Since joining her Cat Shack foster home, Isabel has settled in happily. She is still very shy and is not pettable, but she is a sweet cat who gets along well with all of her foster buddies. She is now a healthy, normal weight. She enjoys going off by herself at times to take cat naps in a cat bed or pile of laundry up on a shelf. Her foster mom can get close to her and Isabel will even sniff her outreached fingers, but Isabel will not yet allow herself to be touched.Isabel deserves loving care from someone who understands her shyness and will allow her to progress at her own pace. A calm, quiet household with the opportunity for more individualized attention would be the ideal situation to help her blossom. Isabel has always lived with multiple other cats so should definitely have a feline buddy or two. A young male cat named Vinny (shown in picture below) who was rescued from the same situation and is most likely her brother, would also be a perfect buddy for Isabel.
Please file an application if you would like to learn more about Isabel. Her foster mom will be very happy to speak with you.
The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!
All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
