My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Nova is at our Petsmart Encinitas adoption center. ***

Solid white, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 4/15/22, #17610

Cats: must have friend
Dogs: likes
Children: polite children

BACKGROUND: Nova and his sister Dove were hiding out in the rocky portion of a public park with their mom when a Good Samaritan found the family. When he came to RH, we discovered that Nova has a few birth defect oddities: blocked tear ducts give him watery eyes that need daily cleaning and drying to reduce skin irritation; surgical intervention would not be beneficial per the veterinary ophthalmologist, but Nova does well with his routine and can see just fine! His other oddity is that when he walks, his back end wobbles. This condition is not progressing, and he does not experience any pain or discomfort. It has not slowed him down in any way—he can still run, jump, and climb like a normal cat; he just looks a little awkward on occasion. With a clean bill of health, Nova cannot wait another minute to meet his forever family!

PERSONALITY: Nova has a luminous personality! He checks all of the boxes for an amazing kitty: he is an inquisitive explorer of life, an entertainer providing plenty of laughs, and a charmer who knows how to add a little bliss to his family’s day. Once you earn his trust, Nova will rev his purr motor loudly when you pay attention to him. Although he is not a lap cat, he likes to hang out close by if you are available, and he is a fan of co-sleeping. He also makes a great work companion and supports you by snoozing on the desk while you type on the computer! Obsessed with the laser pointer, he loves to chase it on flat ground, and although he occasionally will fall while pursuing the elusive red dot, he bounces right back up and returns to the game! Due to his balance issues, he can have difficulty climbing things; however, this intelligent dude largely recognizes his limitations in that department and rarely has trouble with mountaineering!

COMPATIBILITY: Nova needs a cat friend and got along well with the dogs he lived with in foster care. He is very gentle, and we think he would make an excellent family cat for a home with polite children!

Are you ready to brighten up your house with a darling kitty that will liven up your home and illuminate your heart? Then Nova is the one for you!
