Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If we had to use one word to describe Mandibulin it would be sweet! He comes off as quite shy at first but once he gets to know you, he is quick to love and show his true personality (which is a true sweetie pie).
One of the best things about Mandi would be how excited he gets when his foster mom wakes up in the morning. As she approaches the crate, she can already hear his tail wagging in excitement. Mandi adores his canine foster bro and would love to play with him, however, his canine foster bro isn't at that point with him just yet. He enjoys spending time in the yard and will lay down in the grass to sun bathe. Mandibulin has not quite experienced the world of dog toys yet but he does perk up at the sound of a squeaky toy!
In the home, Mandi is a perfect house guest. He is house trained, crate trained, and is generally a pretty quiet pup. He is still coming out of his shell and we are sure to see some happy puppy energy from him. Mandi is still new to the world of walking on leash but he does have great potential to hone his walking skills. He responds well to leash pressure and follows wherever his canine foster bro goes. So far, he is working on sit and come. Mandibulin did have jaw surgery while in Mexico and it presents itself in eating a little funny or sticking his whole snoot in the water bowl to drink. He is not in any pain but it is quite endearing and cute.
For his future home, Mandibulin would do best in a home that has a dog pal to show him the ropes and bring out his lovely personality. He passed his cat test in Mexico (so cute!) He would love a large backyard to run around in and peeps who are home most of the time to hang out with him. Mandibulin is incredibly gentle so we think he would do well with children so long as they understand dog boundaries.
If Mandibulin sounds like your guy, please check out the adoption process and application at www.dibsrescue.com. His adoption fee is $750. If you are a family with older kids, please check out our resources on kids and dogs before you apply (https://dibsrescue.com/kids-dogs).
