Hi, my name is Elsie and I am a Lab X with a DOB of 10/22/22 (approx. 50lbs). I am a native to Minnesota where I was found roaming the streets in St Paul. Animal Control was kind enough to give me a lift as I thought it was to my home, but it was to the nearest doggie jail where no one claimed me.
I would like to mention a few characteristics I have that make me stand out from the doggie crowd.
- I hop like a bunny around the yard.
- I patrol the yard for squirrels, rabbits & cats. No one gets past this girl’s watchful eye.
- I am non-reactive with other dogs – I just want to play with them.
- I have a 4’ 5” vertical jump. 6’ fence is recommended
- I Pounce on tennis balls while I play with them.
I like to ride a shotgun when it comes to car rides. They make a doggie seat belt as I have been told and I guess that should be used for any car rides in the future. I am learning not to dash out the door when it’s open. I’m just very excited to follow my foster mom wherever she goes.
I love toys, but I don’t share them with other animals. You just need to take all my toys, hide them and I can play with other dogs in harmony. I have been known to escape my kennel. Because of this I now have my own “No Break Kennel”. This now keeps me out of trouble when I’m home alone. I am not a fan of the kennel, but I settle down quickly.
I tend to pull on the leash, so my foster mom bought me a hot pink gentle leader (I'm the prettiest girl on the block now) and is teaching me basic commands such as heal and stay for starters. I have to say, so far so good as I do enjoy my walks in the neighborhood. I am still working on potty training.
What kind of home would do best for me:
- Active home that can release my spirited energy and have dog stimulation toys.
- I am food motivated and this works great for training.
- Be patient as I am still young and learning.
- Love me with all your heart as I will do the same.
Are you my forever home?
