Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Time to grab your tissues... Cinny was sitting in a high-kill rural shelter in OK and had been tagged by a northern rescue. When she went in for her health certificate, the vet realized that Cinny is either blind or severely visually impaired (she was bumping into walls). The original rescue backed out and Cinny was on the euth list as she was deemed unadoptable. Well, we know that dogs don't know if they are blind, or deaf or old and they all deserve a chance, so we decided to step in. Cinny (short for Cinnamon) has been with an amazing foster since her arrival to NY. She arrived filled with worms and the way she walked indicated severe malnutrition. She also had some hair loss, an infection and fever. Cinny obviously had not been receiving any care in the shelter and even would poop in her crate (something a dog will not do unless it has had no other choice). Cinny's foster has been taking great care of her. She massages her daily with coconut oil to help her hair grow. She has taken her to the vet for antibiotics and dewormed Cinny. We also have a consultation scheduled for an eye doctor to see how severe Cinny's visual impairment is. She's no longer mincing when she walks now that she is receiving adequate nutrition. She has learned to climb stairs. She plays well with other dogs and she is also happy just to hang out on the deck, enjoying the sun, alone. This is one special girl who certainly would have died if she had stayed in OK and she deserves a home where she'll never be neglected again and will be appreciated for the unique little girl she is.
