Meet Penny! This beautiful, plus-sized girl is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Bichon mix. Penny is 10
years old and lived with her original family all of that time. Once baby number four came, they did not
have the time or resources for her. Penny is currently overweight at 34 lbs.; the vet said a healthy weight for her would be 26 lbs. Her adopter must agree to place her on a restricted diet and provide daily exercise for her.
Sweet, gentle Penny loves attention. Her vision is good, but not perfect. That said, her hearing is
terrific. She happily wags her tail and comes when called. Her favorite outdoor activity is chasing lizards, and she occasionally even catches one.
Due to her weight, Penny limps a little. Her doctor thinks that the excess weight is putting a
strain on her back. She does get more exercise in her foster home than she did before and
lizard chasing is exhausting!
Penny is not a barker or a digger and really does not have a single vice. She is a quiet, well behaved love
who just wants a quiet house and humans to call her own. She would do best in a home where she can
be the center of attention and where there are no kids or young dogs. She is not a fan of
commotion.
When her foster family is out and about, Penny stays loose in the house. There is no need to contain
her – she is perfect. No accidents, chewing or vices. She does not sleep in the bed as it would be
dangerous for her to jump off of it. She has a double layer orthopedic bed (that will come with her) that
is next to her foster mom’s bed. She likes to be close to her humans.
Penny is the grand, old lady of her foster home and is loved by all who meet her. This wonderful dog is
looking for a human to share her golden years. If you can open your heart and home to this wonderful
girl, she will reward you with unconditional love and constant companionship. If you are Penny’s human
you are a very, very lucky soul. She is a treasure.
