Lilo is super friendly! Gets along with all other dogs. She is just a love bug. Whether walking on the beach or cuddling on the couch, Lilo is the best companion. Due to her blindness, she appreciates if you alert her before diving into petting her as that can be startling.
Energy Level? Low
House trained? Mostly house-trained, but she needs to be taken out regularly. Crate trained.
Describe how they are on leash? Lilo is a VERY slow walker, but going on daily walks is her favorite part of the day. Due to her blindness, it just takes us longer to walk.
Describe how they are with other dogs? Great. Gets along with all dogs. Doesn’t care about other dogs. Completely impartial.
Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? Has not been introduced to cats, but I’d assume she’d be just as chill with them.
Commands they know? She knows her name, and she knows “go outside”.
What are their favorite things? Going in slow walks and laying with my human on the couch. Belly rubs are also a favorite!
What do they need to work on? It takes her a while to learn about her surroundings due to her blindness. But she is perfect in every way!
How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? Lilo does well alone. We have left her for about 3 - 4 hours. She stays in her crate. When we leave her alone we turn on the radio so it feels like we are around. It calms her.
Where do they sleep? She prefers her bed with her favorite blanket. She gets restless in bed with us.
What is their ideal home? A quiet, slower-paced home with someone around to take her on daily walks and loves to rub her tummy. She is an older lady and doesn't require much exercise, just a warm and cozy bed, yummy food, and lots of love. Lilo is the easier, sweetest Foster dog I have ever had.
