Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Raya’s Maine foster mom says, “Raya is just about the sweetest dog in the world. She has done well and loved all the people she’s met (both adults and children), is respectful of cats and does well with dogs. She does prefer a more laid back dog. Raya loves to go for walks and does well on a leash. She is doing great with house training and is wonderful in her crate! She is very eager to please and very food motivated!”
Raya has quite the story! A year ago she was rescued off the streets of Puerto Rico
She was a very good dog, and we said yes. She survived being abandoned by the initial “rescuer”, beat parvo, and watched her friends get adopted. Nobody was willing to take a plain-looking street dog, but luckily she hit the jackpot with a rescue in the US and a foster in Puerto Rico.
Raya has lived with cats, dogs and children and does so well! She is 53 lbs and is listed as a lab mix; whatever she is, she has a gorgeous brindle coat, and is anything but “plain”. This affectionate and beautiful girl could join many types of homes – could it be yours?!
If you speak a little Spanish, that’s a bonus! Or maybe you can learn with Raya because she knows her commands in Spanish too.
If you have interest in meeting Raya or any of our cuties please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine and it is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
