Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Maui:1.5 yrs old, 50 lbs mellow husky attitude w a nice head on her shoulders and intelligence to boot! Maui is looking for a Foster and or Foster to Adopt home that spends a lot of time out and about on leash, she is used to living with playful dogs and dog savvy cats, and she is very open and friendly w all people and children. After a rough start in life and being found in a dumpster, Maui has quickly learned how much fun and adventurous life can be and is eager to explore more. She is fully vetted; house trained; leash trained and crate trained. An ideal home is: a house medium size yard and 6 foot fence; lots of leashed engagement walks; broadening Maui mind on various ways; AM exercise before a long work day; children 10 + if the schedule gets busy Maui would need more leash time and or a dog walker. She loves car rides and hanging out when company comes over-she is a fantastic hostess. She is not a hyper dog like the husky can be however she can tense up if there is a lot of changes in the home or she its a busy schedule not including her on leash outings or a dog walker or doggie play time w buddies. She loves to be out and about the leash, it’s her freedom and fun time away from all life's worries and w her human partner exploring new places and visiting w dogs and people. She does fetch some using a variety of different balls and toys that roll, something to build on and she is great at the hardest dog puzzles. She is a pro at learning new commands (she knows sit, shake, lay, and is working on rolling over). Her favorite game to play is tug-she will bring the rope to you over and over again and will even try to engage her foster dog siblings in a friendly tug game. She wants to be near her people but not just sit around she wants to go out see things enjoying life, if your family has a busy schedule w activities Maui can handle some of the busy, but will need leash outings not just joining the event and waiting w you at a soccer game. She is all smiles and snuggles beside you on the couch or bed at the end of a long day. Maui is very social w dogs sharing toys and playing tug; she will read the other dogs cues and end the game not to challenge anyone. This is rare that we find dogs that are this skilled with other dogs; something we want her to continue doggie play dates or day care. She would love to meet dogs and have play dates or a solid doggy daycare, obedience/agility, hiking, or even service dog training she has the perfect unflappable temperament and is steady and solid to her humans needs. Maui’s adoption donation is $250-she can travel for the right home; there is an application to complete and home visit and zoom meeting.
