My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Griffin, Male, Australian Shepherd X, 62 lbs, 2 years old.

This Birthday Boy will be turning 2 next month. Number one on Griffin’s birthday wish list is to find his forever home.

In many ways, Griffin had a great start in life. He was bought as a puppy by first-time dog owners who loved him and set about doing the right things like vet care and training. Unfortunately, the combination of the pandemic, condo living, and inexperience have made it necessary to rehome him.

As well as being a strikingly good-looking boy, Griffin has a confident engaging personality and so loves affection…it’s better than treats. He is very expressive and wants to please. He is enthusiastic and energetic but not hyper. Hanging out with his people whether active or idle is Griffin’s favourite thing.

Griffin is super smart! He came to us knowing all the basics and more. He has been quick to learn new things and unlearn things too. Griffin has great recall and walks well on leash. He is also muzzle and crate trained though neither has been needed.

Cats are scary things for Griffin, but he is respectful. He hasn’t had much exposure to them. Likewise, Griffin hasn’t had much exposure to children. A child-free home for Griffin is the way to go. Dogs, on the other hand, are usually friends.

Griffin has come a long way with very little effort since coming to his foster home. Where he once was overly protective of his female owner and had little respect for people, he now understands protecting is not his job and good things come with good manners.

In order for Griffin to not revert to his old bossy snippy ways, we are looking for doggy savvy confident people to nurture these new good habits by being just who they are. This is not a training thing, but rather the human’s personality and experience thing. Griffin is sensational when he knows his people have his back.

Griffin is a loving and easy pup for experienced dog people who are active and live rurally or semi-rurally. Great walks and places to explore with his people would be ideal for Griffin.

Griffin has been neutered, microchipped, and his vaccinations are up to date. The adoption fee for Griffin is $600.00.

We do not ship our dogs.
