Otto is a sweet, friendly, and playful pup. He warms up quickly to new people and has been great with dogs. He loves attention from everyone. He does well with kids and adults. He does get excited and jumps on kids. But he is learning to keep all feed on the ground. Otto loves to play and investigate everything, like a typical young pup. He will get into mischief, so you will want to puppy-proof your house and not leave Otto alone with your favorite pair of shoes. If you leave him unattended, he will try to chew on things around your house, but he gets better daily. He loves chewing on toys and bones and likes to play fetch.
Energy Level? Medium level. He can have bursts of energy but settles down.
House trained? Yes. The first few days of having him, we did have a diaper on him because he wanted to mark. He has been fine since days 3-4. We take him to my in-laws often and had a diaper on him the first time, and he has not tried to mark there since then.â
Describe how they are on leash? Excellent. He loves to walk on a leash and explore. We will dart after squirrels.
Describe how they are with other dogs? Otto loves all dogs, big and small. He loves to play with his foster friends.
Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? No reaction to cats. The cat stays clear of the dogs, but we have paraded Otto around the cat while on a leash, and they were both cautious about each other.
Commands they know? Sit. Sit before putting on the leash to go outside. "Go to bed" for him to get into his crate. Off and working on leaving it when we are on walks.
What are their favorite things? He loves to snuggle and play and chew on things.
What do they need to work on? Otto recently is doing some training each week, and we are so excited about his progress. Adopters need to be committed to training for our young boy who deserves it.
How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? Otto is fine in his crate. He is a chewer, so its best nothing is left with him. No accidents in the crate. We typically leave him for 4-5 hours. The longest time alone in the crate is 7 hours.
Where do they sleep? He sleeps either in the TALL xpen or in his crate.
What is their ideal home? Otto would be best in a home that is willing to continue his training plan. He is so smart and trainable. Ideally, he would live with an active family. He would do fine as an only dog or another dog to play with him. He is great with kids too.
