My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rico!

Hey friends, my name is Rico! If you have a minute, let me tell you about myself! I came to the shelter a little while ago, I had fallen on some hard times and honestly wasn't in great shape. It's a long and kind of sad story, and I'm more of an upbeat kind of pup, so I won't bore you with the details of it. The bulletpoints version of it, when I was brought to the shelter I was like, crazy skinny, and really really stinky. The friends I made at the shelter gave me a really good meal and a bath, and since then things have all been going my way! Well, not in the whole "adoption" part, but everything else has been pretty great. I've had lots of time to discover my favorite things and make new friends. I get crazy excited for my food, but honestly who wouldn't? When you go as long as I did surviving on scraps, having a consistent meal every day is a pretty rad thing. I like toys too, but my favorite toys are the ones that my friends call "tough toys". I could honestly chew on one of those things all day long, they're the best. Other than that, I have to say my absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world is playing in water! Whenever it's bath time, I always have my friends laughing their pants off. I can't help it, it's just so much fun to try and eat the water! Sometimes, on a nice warm day, they will break out a sprinkler or splash pad for me, and I get to run around and chase the water, those are my favorite days! Aside from all that, I'm a pretty down-to-earth pup. I can come across a little hyper and excitable, but at the end of the day I just want someone who can give me all the love I've missed out on.

Rico is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. He is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix with an estimated birthday of 04/29/2021, and weighs in around 50lbs. He is good with other dogs, but if you currently have any at home a meet and greet is always required. His adoption fee is $125.
