LUKE came into the shelter on Jan. 20, 2023 as a Stray.
At the shelter, LUKE is:
Friendly/Outgoing with volunteers, staff & strangers
Relaxed/Playful with Adults.
Playful with other similar size dogs/”dog tester” at shelter
Enjoys going on offsite walks with volunteers
Easy to walk/handle on walks
Good Leash Skills
Enjoys Pets by volunteers
Engaging /medium energy
Makes good eye contact
Good listener
Loves to play fetch
Gives bear hugs
Knows sit command and takes treats gently
Enjoys car rides (went on furry field trip with volunteer)
LUKE has been kenneled with different dogs at the shelter. He has not been tested with small dogs. Slow & proper intro to dogs & kids.
Best home for LUKE is with a family with or without another compatible dog, house with enclosed, secure yard (no apt).
LUKE is eligible to attend free & unlimited training classes with Pawsforlife K9 Rescue @ the People and Pets Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA.

We are very thorough in our adoption process to ensure our dogs go into the very best homes. Beyond the above steps, we follow up with adopters at regular intervals to ensure the placement is successful and provide resources as needed.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in San Diego County, California assisting with dogs in Southern California. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes.

Mission: To assist in the rescue and rehabilitation of overlooked, neglected, and/or medically fragile shelter dogs in order to find them permanent placement in adoptive homes.
