Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Lester is a special needs adoption, and not just because he’s a dog in a “cat & kitten” rescue group.
At 65 pounds, this shepherd mix is loyal, protective, smart, playful and affectionate. He also has a severe hip displasia making it vital that he stay slim and low-key. Surgery may be in his future, but at the moment he’s doing well on medications.
He lives with cats and another big dog, but kids under 12 would probably not be good. Not because of any negatives - but he could hurt himself romping and rough-housing. Even running can be a strain.
He is house-trained as well as crate-trained, and because no one is perfect, we will disclose his one bad habit - he likes to get into the trash. So prospective houses need to have a closed lid trashcan or one that’s hidden.
Estimated DOB 12/1/19
We are waiving his adoption fee because of his special needs, and just ask for a donation.
**************************************
Our adoption fees are $125 for one, $200 for 2, and cover the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots, microchip, combo test, deworming, and collar and ID tag.
We require our adopters are 21 years old or older, keep the cat inside only (unless on a leash/harness or in a catio), and do not declaw.

We are a foster based rescue and all our kitties live with their foster families until they find their furever homes. We get to know our kitties and can answer questions regarding behaviors and personality.
Our adoption process is a little different than a traditional shelter. We ask that potential adopters complete an application and brief phone screen. Meet and greets are scheduled at our adoption events or with the foster.

More about this rescue
Our group's founders came from other cat rescue groups as we wanted to accept the cats others would not accept; older animals, injured, FIV positive and black cats/kittens. We also assist with TNR and have several traps to loan. We are small and informal, and always welcome new volunteers in any capacity.
