My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATED IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON! RESCUE CANNOT TRANSPORT!

Rogue and Drifter are a bonded pair of littermates. They were found running
loose in King Co. Washington State in August of 2022. They were trapped by a rescuer and placed at the local shelter.
They were pulled from the shelter by their foster parents the day their stray hold
was up. Rogue and Drifter have been in foster care since then. Their foster
parents, and their favorite auntie, have worked on teaching them how to live in
a house, travel in an RV, live with other dogs and basic social skills. Both dogs are
potty trained, crate trained and leash tolerant. They would both, however,
benefit from a couple of home obedience type classes to round out their
education.
Both boys have grown a little taller and filled out a bit since being in foster care.
This has led their foster parents to re-evaluate their age when they were pulled
from the shelter to about one year. These boys are small and fall into the
miniature size range for an American Eskimo Dog. They each weigh about 17 lbs
and will probably gain minimal additional weight as they continue to mature.
Despite being brothers, they have different personalities.
Rogue –
Rogue is a loving boy. He likes nothing better than sitting on your lap and
flipping over on his back for a belly rub. He is learning that there are times when
it's not proper to leap into your lap unexpectedly. Rogue is more hesitant when
he encounters something new. Even the duster had to be introduced to him so
he would not fear it. Rogue can be reactive to sounds or being touched where
he’s not expecting it.
Drifter –
Drifter is more reserved than his brother. He needs to be given time to warm up
to someone new. However, once he feels comfortable, Drifter is as big a lover as
his brother. He is also learning when not to jump on his fosters’ laps. He has been
found to be less apprehensive about new things. Drifter is less reactive, but can
still be startled by sounds or new situations.
It must be remembered both of these dogs ran loose for an unknown period of
time. They obviously had little to no training before they went into foster care.
Their fosters have no idea about their background or breeding. A future owner
must keep that in mind as these two boys settle into a new home.
Eskie savvy adopters are preferred! A house with a tall secure fence, at least 5 feet, is a big plus!

Thanks for looking ~ we intend for these brothers to be adopted together, please do not ask to split!
