Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Strawberry von Sayda is a stunning 10-11 month old German Shepherd. This pretty girl with the bushy tail and megawatt smile is a kissing bandit. She’s already known around the rescue for her big hugs and puppy kisses. She doesn’t hold back on her affection and is looking for a home that doesn’t either! She’s a young pup who looks forward to her walks and enjoys exploring. She can get far ahead of you sometimes, but she is mindful of directions and, after a bit, settles into a nice pace. Strawberry does get the zoomies, so no one with balance issues, please! She is a smart girl who already knows her sit and down commands. She takes treats gently, and she has been respectful of cats she has met on a few occasions. She is comfortable around other dogs, meeting dogs well on her walks and going out on a walk alongside other dogs. In playgroups she greets other dogs nicely and mingles well. Nevertheless, her preference is to stick close to you for belly rub sessions. She has a lot to offer for an active and involved home so, if Strawberry sounds like the girl for you, fill out the application below. Already housebroken too, ready to go home with you!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
