My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOLD/PENDING
BUGSY was part of the rescue group to leave the home of the Northern California breeder and into our rescue with great help from our friends s at the Available Carolina Dog group and is getting ready for a wonderful home of his own.  He is a male Carolina Dog, just under 1 yr old, neutered, microchipped and current on shots. Bugsy is friendly with other dogs, does not seem to mind cats and has a friendly disposition with people (although expect him to be cautious at first until he figures out you are his person). He is currently working on his house training, (but he is smart and will be a quick learner), and leash training (which is scary for him right now since he has never been leashed before).  Since these dogs enjoy having a canine companion, he would be happiest in a home with another dog. He is extremely handsome and will be a wonderful loyal companion.

Our team is working tirelessly night and day to ensure these very special dogs are rescued and placed safely before any are impounded.

Be Part of This Mission.
The majority of these dogs are very fearful and under socialized The care, vetting, medical transport etc. is a huge undertaking and requires a lot of support. A fund has been established to help defray costs associated with a rescue mission of this magnitude for medical, alters, vaccines, supplies, transport etc.
Donations are greatly needed to help these dogs as are volunteers for transportation short and long distance and other volunteers.
Donations can also be received at www.lovar.org or fundraiser

More about this rescue

Lifeline Oro Valley Animal Rescue (L.O.V.A.R.) is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization, all volunteer and no kill rescue striving to support those most in need.

We rescue dogs and cats of all types, sizes, aged and breeds.

Specialty: We also specialize in Carolina Dogs; Desert Dogs and fear dogs and cats from shelters, or the community.

Since opening in 2014, we have successfully rescued and adopted animals considered by some to be least adoptable- including dogs that are feral, senior, sick and injured, as well as those with behavior and fear problems, hospice and mothers left behind, as well as cats that are seniors and bonded pairs.

We believe that the systematic killing as a means of controlling the population is wrong and work with other stakeholders and the community to seek non lethal options.

LOVAR is platinum rated on Guidestar Charity and proudly participates in Shelter Data Counts.
