Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Darling Delta is looking for her forever family, and wants her new people to know these 10 things about her:
1. I am about 2 years old, and I weigh 100lbs. The people at the shelter did a DNA test for me, and it turns out I’m a real mastiff mix-em-up: I have English Mastiff, Neapolitan, Presa, Bullmastiff, Dane, Corso, and Boerboel genes!
2. I was picked up as a stray in Atlanta, and I was taken to a shelter. It was loud there and kind of scary, but luckily for me, I didn’t have to wait for too long before the Bullpen said that I could come to the sanctuary!
3. I am a loving girl, but I think that because of my puppy energy, I would do best in a home with children over 10 (as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs).
4. I’m not sure how I feel about other big dogs. When I was at the shelter, I was cohoused with several other dogs without any issues, but since I’ve been at the Bullpen, I’ve been grumpy with some of the other residents through the fence. Maybe if my new home had a large, laid-back male it wouldn’t be too bad, but I also wouldn’t mind being the center of attention!
5. I haven’t had any interaction with small or medium sized dogs at the rescue, but the shelter reported that I was VERY interested in them while I was there. To be on the safe side, it would probably be best if my forever family didn’t have these kinds of pets.
6. My only experience with cats since arriving at the sanctuary is the occasional sighting of a barn cat, so I can’t say for sure if a feline-friendly home is right for me.
7. The words that best describe me are silly, affectionate, and playful.
8. My favorite thing to do are getting petted, exploring the yard, and sunbathing.
9. I am housebroken and crate trained, and I am learning how to walk politely on a leash. I know basic obedience and I’ve already mastered the dog door!
10. I am fully vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
Ready to give Delta the forever home of her dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at http://www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab.
We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
