Dexter's worst day was his best day!! Dexter was a stray that his foster mom found wandering the neighborhood. When attempting to escape capture, Dexter got his little head stuck in the fence. While his foster mom worked to free him Dexter was scared because he didn't understand that someone was trying to help him. He chewed through the leash and tried to act ferocious! That's tough to do when you are 16lbs and a skinny little malnourished fellow. Dexter thought this was his worst day!
His new foster mom took him home and gave him a few days to decompress in a crate in a quiet area. Eventually Dexter understood that he was being fed twice a day and spoken to in a kind voice and no one was trying to hurt him. This was his best day!!
Dexter is a sweet, cuddly boy who loves resting with his head in your lap. He loves people (sometimes he has to bark just a little to find out who is friend or foe) and wants everyone to be his friend. Dexter lives with other dogs big and small and gets along with them all. He likes to play, chew on his bones and sit in the sun. He is crate trained and will run right to his crate for a yummy Beggin Strip! Dexter uses his doggy door and does not have accidents in the house. He is starting on leash training so he can be a big boy and go on walks and to the park.
Dexter is looking for someone to make everyday his best day!
