My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Banjo and his sister Nadia are so extremely fortunate. So many like them have most likely died a painful death on farms all throughout the country. Nadia and Banjo came into rescue after a breeder scheduled euthanization with no solid diagnosis on what exactly was going on. We had to give them a chance and figure it out. Their condition was perplexing but thanks to Dr Bryan Langlois after some research and consultations with a few of his colleagues it was determined they most likely had Neosporosis. Blood tests were performed and this was confirmed. We are providing a link for you to read regarding this condition. These 2 are Dis...VERY... abled! They let literally nothing stop them. Nadia is a spitfire to say the least. She has a very big personality and loves to play and thinks she is the boss. Banjo on the other hand is a big softie. He too loves to play, but snuggling is his favorite. There is no way of knowing how long they will live or if their muscle atrophy will progress. What we do know is that they deserve a family of their own who will show them everything life has to offer. They are both good with dogs, kids and honestly unsure of cats. Trust us when we say these kids will enrich your life much more than we as humans could ever enrich theirs. Watching them thrive and live life to the fullest with literally no complaints from them has been a priceless pleasure as their foster parents. When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are run prior to choosing an adopter.. This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website www.onedogatatime.us . Additional adoption info

The goal of ODAAT is to place our companion animals in lifetime, loving homes. Every home and every companion animal has it 's own unique personality and requirements. We place our animals in the supportive and loving environment of home foster care. While there, we gain knowledge about their personality, training skills, likes and dislikes.

To assist us with matching the correct companion animal with the most appropriate and compatible home, please fill out our adoption application questions as completely and correctly as possible and any other information you think would be helpful. The application will be followed-up by an ODAAT Adoption Coordinator, with a phone interview and then a home check.

Adoption contract and post-adoption follow-up checks are required as a condition of adoption. Some companion animals get multiple applicants or are not appropriate matches, so not all adoptions will be approved. Not all applicants will receive a yes or no response due to limited staff. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption without justification.
Our Adoption Costs vary but below is a guideline:
Dogs: $400-$300
Puppies:$450
Cats: $75
Kittens: $100

Why the high cost? Can't I adopt an animal for less? No.. and here's why: Our animals come to you fully vetted. It costs us less for medical care than you do to non-profit discount. So if you adopt an animal for less it will cost you more later. Spay & Neutering your animals, along with keeping up on shots prevents disease & illnesses.

Go meet their pets

We are an all foster-based rescue. Once a potential adopter submits an application they will receive a "Welcome email". This email requests certain steps be done in order for our volunteers to run the application. We do not process applications that do not return the requested information as we are extremely busy. We are very serious about the placement of our animals and want to make sure that the home is both perfect for the animal and perfect for the adoptive family.
