Meet Whiskers!
Whiskers is of the terrier breed, and we believe him to be 6 yrs old. Whiskers grew up with an elderly man who passed away year ago. He was then left in the care of a person who was not kind to him.
His humans didn't do much to socialize him so he can be nervous around strangers. If you approach him patiently and gently, he will warm up to you.
He is potty trained and will let you know when he needs out. He prefers not to be alone and will do best with someone who is home more often than not. This needs some work. A home with a yard will be best for him.
He likes outside walks, likes to play ball and tug a war he is a super great dog. Doesn't mind a bath love's to be brushed. He does not love larger dogs but doesn't mind those his size. Is ok with cats. Can be a bit of fussy eater. Likes riding in the car and is a great passenger. His forever home might be best suited with retirees who have lots of time to spend. We would like to see him in a home without kids.
Whiskers suffered a broken hip which required major surgery. How the injury occurred is unclear - he may have been hit by a car. Our vet repaired his hip and he is recovering nicely. Once he is fully healed he should be good as new.
Whiskers adoption fee is $395.
We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
