Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tucker is 6 years old and weighs 65lbs. He has a beautiful coat which is silky soft to the touch. He loves to be brushed and cooperates at bath time.
Tucker is a very sweet, affectionate, gentle, calm, obedient, well behaved dog. He is well housebroken, leash and crate trained, non destructive so he can be trusted to roam free when home alone. He has a low medium energy. He is a quiet dog, not a barker, will only bark to alert that someone is at the door. Although he is very affectionate towards his caregivers and loves to snuggle up, he is undemanding of their attention and is happy with what he is given. When in need for a pet, he gently rests his head on his foster caregivers lap and sometimes will try to sit on them to tuck his head under their chin :-). He has good manners, does not surf kitchen counters or steal from the kitchen table, does not jump up on people during greetings and will not touch the door in anticipation when taken for a walk and remains calm in spite of feeling excited to go for a walk. He also waits patiently while his handlers finally put his leash on him and their shoes on! Tucker will always greet you when you return home by going to pick up a toy. He loves to go for car rides and sits quietly on the back seat without having to be tethered. He also loves water and enjoys playing on his own with his chew rope and ball.
Tucker knows some commands, such as "SIT, STAY and GIVES BOTH PAWS” for a treat. He sits on his own will when given a treat and takes it gently. While Tucker is an absolute gem indoors, he needs proper intro to other dogs. Although he is totally submissive to his foster caregivers dominant 7 lbs senior male shitzu, he is protective against other dogs when on walks and is leash reactive towards other dogs. For this reason, he is not suitable for dog parks outings. Well experienced dog owners are better suited to adopt him. Regardless, Tucker is an absolutely awesome dog, so well mannered indoors and easy to care for, perfectly suited to adopters who do not necessarily want to walk their dog several times a day and can offer a fenced in back yard for exercise time. He should preferably be the only pet in the house.
URGENT: Tucker's foster senior caregivers are going south for the winter months and he is in dire need of a new foster home
THE IDEAL PERMANENT or FOSTER HOME FOR TUCKER
