Katie is a very sweet dog who still has a lot to learn about life. Katie narrowly escaped being euthanized at a KY shelter, but her guardian angels were looking out for her, and they got her out and save her life in the nick of time. Katie is about a year old and she has never known what it's like to live with a family (other than her foster family just this week). Katie and her littermates spent their first 5 months outside, with little to no human interaction other than at feeding time. They were like wild children! They they were unceremoniously dumped at the shelter, way past the cute little puppy stage, but with none of the manners and training that one would expect from an older puppy/adult dog. It took the pups a long time to find homes, and Katie is the last one left. We don't know why she's having such a difficult time - she is sweet, affectionate, submissive with people. She just wants to be loved. She is working hard on housetraining - her foster mom reports that she is about 85% housetrained. She is still learning to play nicely with other dogs. She tends to dominate the female dogs and is very submissive with male dogs. She is learning to walk on a leash - her foster mommy is working with her to make her more adoptable! Katie deserves to be part of a family, she deserves to be loved, and she wants to love back. Please consider taking Katie into your home and your heart. She will show you over and over how truly grateful she is for you giving her a chance at a real life. To meet Katie, please email recycleddoggies@gmail.com
