Shelby is very shy at first. She hides and peeks out from behind whatever she is hiding behind. But she wants to come out, she wants to get love, and she wants to make friends. She takes some time to warm up though. She will sneak out, run up to you to be pet, and then quickly run back to her hiding place like a giggling schoolgirl. It's very cute, and it will melt your heart to see how much she wants to break free of her timidness. She just can't do it all at once. Shelby does great with other dogs. She lives with 7 other dogs in her foster home and she does great with all of them, although she is definitely partial to another shy puppy that her foster mom is fostering. Shelby has not been around cats. Shelby has a special need aside from her shyness - she has seizures, but they appear to be completely controlled by medication that is very inexpensive. Shelby is under a year old - so much life left in her, so much love to give. She is microchipped and has had two sets of parvo/distemper shots.
