My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Behati.

This gorgeous gal has been in our care for quite some time. She came to us as a feral gal with her kittens and, as we can understand, it takes time to learn to trust. She lost her ears to our harsh winters and had to fend for herself for years. Thankfully she caught the eyes of a caring soul who was working on the stray cat population in her area and was trapped and brought inside to start her socialization journey.

She is very playful and can often be heard playing with her toys through the night. She is cautious with new cats and can be bullied by dominant/alpha cats, so would do best with a gentle, mild mannered friend or on her own. But, she is a social gal and does like to be around others when she feels safe and confident.

She is still very shy and would require a lot of patience to adjust and fully come out of her shell. She will sniff toes and fingers, but does not yet allow pets. She also gets nervous with movement and noises, which can send her into hiding. She can also be a bit (or a lot) stubborn, which we find incredibly charming and probably helped her survive on the outside.

Behati is a special girl, deserving of a special forever family

More about this rescue

Since 1996 SCAT Street Cat Rescue's prime focus has been feral cats because of the limited options available for them. TNR is a successful option instead of the traditional trap and kill. The majority of the cats rescued by SCAT, however, are socialized and available for adoption. As the city grows, so to does the need for our services. Adopt, Donate, Volunteer, TODAY!
