Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Congratulate us! We have triplet purebred fuzzy wuzzy Border Collie puppies! One boy and two girls..
And what could we have named the boy? What other than Lucky? But his luck doesn't seem to be going too well. Both of his sisters have been adopted, but no one has even been to visit with Lucky.
Lost or abandoned they were brought to a vet that has a soft heart and does rescue, especially herding dogs, as she has Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs, herself. Date of birth is approximately August 15, 2009.
You can see how well behaved the three of them are in their baby pictures we have on file sitting nicely on a bench in the vet's waiting room. Lucky is in the middle. But when the posing was over and they got to go outside the fun really began!
It was a real show. Lucky is the biggest and most outgoing. His feet barely hit the ground before he was off and jumping on his sister in puppy play. Lucky loves to play with all dogs, and has no aggressive tendencies, he shares his food and his toys. He is shy around people he does not know. Personality shows all the pups hold no grudges for their bad start in life. They love other animals, even our cats. Yes, if the cats run they will try to catch, but if they just lie there, the pups just go by and sniff. Christian (see in our cat rescues) loves to play with all the pups! They just think he is great! Tell you the truth, I believe Christian thinks he is a dog.
Before you decide to adopt this gorgeous boy, please study the breed. They are wonderful family pets if they are properly trained, mentally & physically exercised. They make wonderful agility dogs, and love Frisbee games or anything athletically challenging. They are extremely smart and require an equally intelligent and knowledgeable owner. Their new home must have a sturdy fence and adequate play area. Walking daily is suggested.
Lucky is very shy around new people, but once you have earned his trust he is a love bug who will gladly sleep on the couch or bed with you.
Lucky is up to date on his vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped. Monthly flea preventative and heartworm preventative must be continued.
Lucky is housetrained, he will go stand in front of the door when he needs to go potty. IF you ignore him, he begins to pace & whine.
If you think our fluffy goofball Lucky is for you, contact us sunsetanimalrescue@yahoo.com or call at 803-635-4252 and leave a message and please speak slowly so we will be able to return your call.
Adoption donation is $300.00.
