My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This pretty girl is River and she is looking for her Furever Home. River weighs
approximately 50lbs and is 5 ½ years old. She loves Squeaky toys, butt scratches, belly rubs, Tug of war and chilling on the couch with you.

River is house and crate trained and can use a doggy door. She knows basic commands, is
very food motivated and loves her treats. She’s done ok with her Fosters older less dominant females but she isn’t a fan of dogs so being the only dog is the best scenario for her success in her new home.

River is not good with cats or small animals. She loves to chase squirrels and birds.
She is a bit shy at first but warms up quickly especially with females and is a real sweetheart when you gain her trust. No young children but older children we think she will do well with.

River needs a rural setting with a big fenced in yard where she can lay on the porch and watch the birds and keep you company while doing some yard work. She is being Fostered in Wakefield Virginia.
