Hi, my name is Croft, and the ONLY thing I’m asking Santa for this year, is a forever family and home to call my own! I’m the sweetest guy who’s been waiting such a long time, much to the puzzlement of all my human helpers, and the only thing they can figure is that maybe people are afraid of my FIV status. ☹
But there is really nothing to fear, here’s why: I can still live a long, full, healthy life with FIV! If I get sick it might take me a bit longer to recover, but research shows that most of us FIV Kitties live long lives just like our non-FIV friends, and with proper introductions, we can live safely with non-FIV kitties. FIV is spread ONLY by very deep bite wounds ( like the kind that happen when unneutered tom cats fight), through mating, or passed from a mother cat to her kittens. It is NOT spread by sharing bowls or litter boxes, play fighting, or grooming each other. If you’re interested in adopting me but scared about the FIV, my people would be happy to talk with you and answer any questions you might have! Find out more here: https://fivcats.com/
If you’re still with me, I’m so glad! Please read on for my story.
A nice cat lady TNR’d me a couple of years ago; at the time I was too feral to come indoors, but I kept coming back to the nice lady’s house for food, and eventually I let one of the helpers pick me up and carry me inside. I am a VERY chatty boy, and I’ll have long and expressive conversations with you. I really don’t enjoy being alone (I had more than enough me time outside, thanks!) If you’re looking for a kitty who will be your shadow and stick close by your side, I’m your guy! I get along with other cats as long as they are not very dominant or aggressive toward me, and I think I would also be okay as an only kitty. But either way, I will do best in a home with people who are there often. I am a super affectionate boy who will need a lot of interaction, snuggles and play time. Sometimes I give love nibbles, so I will do best in an adults-only home, or with older kids who understand that I can get a little overexcited sometimes. I am so appreciative of being off the streets, I will shower you with love every day to say thank you for giving me a home! In addition to fabulous cuddles, I also do handshakes and give high fives. I will keep you entertained even when I don’t mean to—I am a bit clumsy, and I will often pull a clumsy move and then walk off as though it didn’t happen at all, leaving my helpers in stitches! I LOVE food, especially anything with gravy. I also really like Churu and Temptations treats. I’m not much for playing just yet, but I love a good cat tree for napping and bird watching.
I don’t know for sure how I am with dogs, but I had one brief encounter with the nice lady’s dog and I got pretty scared. So I’m guessing I’m not a huge fan, but I might be okay with a really calm, gentle dog, with proper introductions. I hope you’ll come and meet me soon…..I’ll be saving up some snuggles for you! I’m hoping you’ll be the one to make my wish come true this year, and that I’ll be spending the holidays cozy and warm with my new family. I’ve been such a good boy all year, and I’m hoping Santa delivers!

‼️Help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered! 💯
We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.
We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.
We require a donation of $120 for adoption of unaltered kittens with a PTV Contract. All kittens receive vaccine series and wormings as well as medical treatment as needed. The adopter is responsible for obtaining their rabies vaccine and spay/neuter if the kitten is not of age at the time of adoption. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.
We ask a donation of $25 to adopt Career/barn cats.
We require a donation of at least $140 for adoption of Spayed/neutered cat.
Bonded pairs adoption donation is $200.
Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!
