Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chained as a pup Bear broke his chain when attacked by another dog and came bounding up to me as if he was saying, "Save me, Save me"! We were out walking a puppy for his midnight potty and here comes this red hairy thing coming at me at full trot,or I should say hop since he was running on three legs.He was holding up one leg, so we were afraid he had been hit by a car, but after taking him inside it was evident another dog had attacked and he was trying to run away when the dog grabbed his hind leg and crunched down on it.He was bleeding from several bites to the lower leg. He has been x-rayed and is on antibiotics and has turned into a goofy, totally loving, mushy bear. He is the rich mahogany color of a red Golden Retriever with a black muzzle and points. A sweeter boy, it would be hard to find! His collar had grown into his fur, and if he did not have a ruff of hair around his neck area, it would have been embedded into his skin. I don't know how he breathed it was so tight. But better times are ahead. He would make a great pal for an older child, simply because he is so exuberant he may knock down a small child. He gives excellent kisses and is amazed with car rides. What a wonderful family pet he would make. He likes everyone here from our 98 year old mother, all the way down to the great grandsons. Bear's adoption donation is $200.00. Only families who are willing to groom, need apply, since he will need to be brushed often, but what a glorious boy you will have to show for your work. Email us at sunsetanimalrescue@yahoo.com for the questionnaire to proceed with the adoption process You may call us at 803-635-4252 but will probably need to leave a message as we are out with the animals most of the day and some of the night. Please leave a message with area code and speak slowly so we may return your call. Kai, & Eddie Gunn, Sunset Animal
Updates...Bear has healed from his wounds. He is very happy and friendly. He loves to meet new people. He loves playing with children but smaller children may get knocked over with his playfullness. Bear is not good with outside cats, but inside cats who are not afraid to stand up to him and give him a swat if he gets too playful are fine. Bear is a big goofy lovey boy, who deserves a very loving home.
