Rescue Story
Yomi was found with 1,600 other dogs, being kept by an animal hoarder in South Korea. Our partner, Beagle Rescue Network, saved him along with all the other dogs (and had the animal hoarder shutdown).
About Him/Her
Yomi was born in a shelter, her whole life was a shelter life. She had to wait for her turn patiently because there were too many dogs to be rescued. It is finally her turn, and she did great in the training center to taste outside of shelter life and more people. She is in a foster home in Korea now, and she will come to Canada this Spring.
It looks like she is mixed with many dog’s breeds. She has short legs, pointy ears, and brown color probably from Corgi, body maybe from Shiba, and tail looks like a fox tail. This makes her very unique and special, and she will be the only breed in the world.
Although she never lived with humans before, she quickly came out of her shell and started bonding with the foster mom. She was startled with every noise in the beginning, but now she learned quickly that it is not a danger for her showing no reaction with loud noises. It takes a lot of time for rescue dogs to learn these, but Yomi made great progress quickly. She even accepts treats from strangers on the street, and also allows guests to pet her.
She is independent, mellow, and calm inside the house. She loves going for a walk and she can walk 1hr non stop. Her favorite thing is the snuffle mat.
She is cautious in the beginning, so you have to gain her trust by petting her and talking to her gently.
She is in Kitchener now. Only selected candidates can have a meet and greet to respect the foster family’s life. “Apply for foster to adopt” or “Adopt”
