Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Cheddar
Nickname: Max. Sam.
Breed: Terrier Mix
Age: ~ 5 years old
Sex: Male
Weight: 16 lbs.
Before OMD: Brought into the local shelter as a euthanasia request because of persistent vomiting. The shelter didn't see him vomit once and we've seen no issues during his time with us, which included a comprehensive medical workup.
Energy level: Medium-high. He's a lover of frequent walks, inside play time, and romping in the yard (footnote: supervision required - he’s a digger).
Descriptor Words: Sweet. Happy. Dramatic.
Life Goal: Dig to China
Moonlights as: Neighborhood watch captain
What makes us laugh: When he throws his treats in the air [like he don't care]. How much he loves to gossip with the neighborhood dogs. When he brings you a single shoe to low key let you know it's time to play outside
What he loves: Treats. Being outside. Digging. Playing hide and seek with your shoes.
Affection level: He’s an independent guy, but is also down for some snuggles as long as they come with a belly rub
Stranger danger: Nope! Loves everyone he meets
What he knows: Sit (when there's a treat in hand). Walking like a gentleman on leash
What he’s working on: Using his inside voice (he’s a Terrier after all)
Dogs: Sure! He currently has multiple canine foster siblings
Cats: Unknown, but we would guess he would do fine
Kids: Dog-savvy kiddos welcome!
House-trained: Yes, aside from the occasional “mark” inside
Crate-trained: Yes! His foster fam doesn’t find much need for it, but he knows the ropes.
Cheddar is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of Connecticut and Illinois and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org
