My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scooter is a very sweet boy, good with children and cats. He does not react to deer, golf carts, walkers, bikers, or small dogs when out walking, but does show reactivity with large dogs by barking and pulling.

In the home, he is so lovely, calm, and friendly. He is a very laid back and relaxed dog. He is extremely responsive with treats on walks and his reactivity is easily managed with the use of food rewards. He still needs a bit of distance from larger dogs (20-30 feet) to be able to stay calm, but has done really well when this strategy is used. He has worked with a trainer and would benefit continuation to build social confidence.

Scooter becomes very attached to his family. He loves with his whole heart!

He has done fine with little dogs.

We are a dedeicated group of volunteers who house abandon, abused and neglected dogs in our homes until they can find a forever home. Our organzition operates from the donations that we receive. We are a 501 C 3 non-profit organization so all donations are tax deductible. S.A.F.E. Animal Haven is comprised of a group of volunteers with many years of experience who came together with the belief that we could make a difference one animal at a time, one child at a time, one day at a time. Our volunteers conduct educational programs in our school system and try to network with other groups in order to make a difference in the world.
