My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hakuna Matata it up!

Hey friends! I am Timon, part coyote and part hyena and whole good dog, and I am a 5 year old, 35 lbs, neutered male Terrier mix. I came to sunny San Diego rescued through Los Adoptables. I have been a resident there for 4 long years and now longing for a furever home with a nice comfy couch! I have some irritated skin condition and medicated baths have been helping me. But bear with my coyote-hyena looks for a lil bit. I am cute like that too! I am bathroom trained, good in the crate even though i dont quite need it anymore and working on leash reactivity. Positive reinforcement is going to help me a bunch and my private lessons are already helping me!

I am a total sweetie pie and cuddles are life for me! Since I was in the kennels for so long, I am re-learning life and good manners. But I already have 'sit' and 'down' good! I am friendly with dogs with a polite intro, but leash reactive. I am getting lessons and I am a star student! Off leash, I am friendly and down to play! I don't have experience with cats. I am currently with toddlers at home and we are awww-dorable! I am quite energetic and enthusiastic about playtime, but down to chill when my person needs to work/be in meetings/or needs quiet time.

I am just a cuddle bug looking for my Pumba. A home with another dog to play with would be best. A yard for sunbathing would be great! I just need love, food, water and toys! I will also make a great road trip pawtner! Look me up on IG @fosterfurrytails. If you think we can be hakuna-matata-ing together, let's meet up! My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
