Energy level: Medium
Cats: Not tested - Likely ok with proper introduction
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Not kid tested, would likely do well with dog-savvy children
Medical: Has grade 4 luxating patella, does not require medical intervention and does not slow him down but does increase his chances slightly of possible ACL injury.
Behavior: Cuddly, loves to be attached to his people. Playful, active & fun.

Togo is fantastic boy! He is joy personified; an always enthusiastic participant in whatever is happening. Why walk when you can run? and why just run when you can be doing happy spinning circles while running? This is Togo's outlook on life. He is an excellent and attentive companion and LOVES to be cuddled up with you on the couch.
We think Togo would do well in an active household, he gets along well with other dogs (after proper introduction) and while he hasn't had the opportunity to be tested with kids, we feel like he has the right temperament to be a good family dog.
Togo recently completed an orthopedic consult with a specialist because he has grade 4 luxating patella (which he was likely born with). We wondered if he was going to need surgery to correct this but we're pleased to find out that he doesn't! He does however have a slightly increased risk of ACL injuries over his lifetime and if that were to occur would require surgery to fix. It would be a good idea to keep him from leaping and jumping off high furniture in the hopes of avoiding injury. He will also need to be kept slim to avoid extra pressure on those legs. (something to consider if food is your love language!) Otherwise he is active and unhindered by his condition! We are happy to discuss his condition in more depth with prospective adopters.
Togo is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.
If you are looking for the perfect new family member and think your home would be a good match for Togo, please complete an adoption application here: https://www.ruffstartrescuesociety.com/adoption-application-form and one of our directors will be in contact with you via email within a few business days.
